Der Autor
Ulrich Walter, geboren am 9. Februar 1954 in Iserlohn, deutscher Wissenschaftsastronaut, promovierter Festkörperphysiker, Wissenschaftspublizist, ständiger Kolumnist beim Astronomiemagazin Star Observer und Fernsehmoderator. Seit März 2003 ileitet den Lehrstuhl für Raumfahrttechnik an der Technischen Universität München und lehrt und forscht im Bereich Raumfahrttechnologie und Systemtechnik. Seine Schwerpunkte sind Intersatelliten-Kommunikations-Technologien und Rechnerarchitekturen, insbesondere für Robotik im Weltraum, und Systemmodellierung und –Optimierung.
